Dahlia Crater, Director of Admissions
Dahlia is a native of the Greensboro area, having lived here most of her life. She is a graduate of Greensboro’s Jewish day school, B’nai Shalom and the University of North Carolina, Greensboro with degrees in Political Science and Communications. Throughout her education, Dahlia has had the opportunity to grow in her Jewish identity through participating in the Lauder – Szarvas camp in Budapest, Hungary, Alexander Muss High School in Israel and many other Jewish leadership programs throughout the country.
Dahlia joins the Academy with over 10 years of business management experience, and brings her passion to help grow and develop future Jewish leaders to the Academy. In Dahlia’s free time, she enjoys traveling to visit friends and family, cooking and hopes to one day grow a successful garden. On the weekends, you can find Dahlia out and about in the Greensboro community with her husband, Matthew and their beautiful baby son.
Laura Hausman, Admissions Officer
Laura is a proud alumna of Florida State University where she received a degree in International Affairs and English. While living in Israel as a participant on Project Otzma, she worked in the Israeli school system teaching English and interned for the The Jewish Agency for Israel, travelling around the country as a representative for Partnership2gether, a program that aligns 450 global Jewish communities directly with Israeli communities. This experience sparked a lifelong enthusiasm for bridging Jewish communities, which brought her to the Academy in 2012 where she found a unique and exciting way to do just that! Laura has served in several roles at the Academy including Fellow, Student Life Operations Manager, Associate House Parent and now, Admissions Officer.
Laura has 10 years of experience in marketing, account management and Jewish communal work. In her free time, she enjoys making music with her husband Ari, cooking elaborate meals for the masses, traveling to visit her vast extended family, and playing tug-of-war with her adorable dog, Yofi!
Danielle Block, Senior Admissions Associate
Ms. Danielle Block is a perpetual student of human interactions – whether cross cultural, traversing language barriers, or navigating different perspectives. She holds a Master’s Degree in Conflict Resolution & Mediation from Tel Aviv University and two Bachelor’s Degrees in International Studies and Italian from Penn State. Danielle is currently working toward her second Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University. She joins the Academy from her most recent position in Tel Aviv at YaLa Young Leaders, an online peace organization.
Danielle recently moved to Greensboro and speaks Hebrew, Spanish, French, and Italian. Danielle is very excited to apply her passion for communications and interdisciplinary studies to recruiting and marketing at this amazing institution and is happy to be living on campus serving as a big sister to Academy students.
