Admission to the American Hebrew Academy is based on academic potential as well as past performance and individual strengths. Our students have varied backgrounds in Jewish education, from those who have attended Hebrew day schools to those with very limited experience in Jewish community life.

Admissions requirements include a student visit to our campus (optional for foreign students); an applicant questionnaire with two written essays; a family information form; letters of recommendation from teachers and a Jewish community professional; and the Secondary Schools Admission Test (SSAT). You may download the application form listed on this page. Foreign students will take the TOEFL Exam (Test of English as a foreign language).

You may arrange to take the SSAT in your local community (register online to take the test at www.SSAT.org) or, if there is no local testing site, contact the admissions office for assistance. Please be sure to include the Academy's school recipient code 1235, and bring the registration with you to the test. For International applicants, the TOEFL is required (register online to take the test at www.ets.org). Our TOEFL score recipient code is 8634.

Our admissions process does require an on campus interview in Greensboro, NC. We feel that this is the best way for you to learn more about the American Hebrew Academy and for us to get to know you.

We encourage you to submit your application and schedule your visit to our campus as soon as possible.

Thank you for your interest in the American Hebrew Academy!
