Health and Fitness Offerings:

     Yoga

     Martial Arts

     Boating

     Racquetball

     Swimming

     and many others!

These are facts of modern life: a technological world can lead to too much stress, unhealthy eating habits, and too much time sitting in front of computers and TV's.

In Health and Physical Education courses, you'll learn how to make intelligent choices about your personal health and fitness.

Sample topics covered in our courses: aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, outdoor recreation, stress management, nutrition, human sexuality, disease prevention, injury prevention and care, and CPR and first aid.

At the American Hebrew Academy, we believe in educating mind, body, and soul. As for the body, we require all students to take physical education courses or participate in team sports each year in order to meet graduation requirements.

Our sports facilities are "first class" from our collegiate-level athletic fields to our $15 million athletic center, complete with a rock climbing facility and "waveless" competition swimming pool.

"I'm always looking for students who love to play the game. We tell our kids: 'The most dangerous person on the field isn't the best athlete. It's the person having the most fun.'"
