The American Hebrew Academy Fellowship seeks enthusiastic and highly motivated recent college graduates from all Jewish backgrounds who want to increase their knowledge and build tangible career related skills residing alongside and serving talented high school Jewish teens in a boarding school setting.
Fellows, in coordination with the Dean of Student Life, will be able to create personalized work experiences incorporating both formal and informal educational components. Fellows will have daily residential life responsibilities and weekly professional development/networking opportunities. In addition, Fellows will be able to chart their professional path by taking advantage of opportunities in areas such as the classroom (Jewish and secular), marketing, admissions, communication, school counseling, arts, sports, and the like.
Fellowship Highlights:
- Fellows serve as a team member of the residential staff. Each Fellow is assigned to a House and the students that reside in it. Fellows are on-duty 2 nights/week and every 3rd weekend. In this capacity, they are also a part of weekly House Team meetings and receive professional development.
- Fellows rotate through 3 areas of campus responsibilities; one per trimester. The rotations are Campus Life, Jewish Life, and Programming.
- Fellows are highly encouraged to take part in other areas of the school, from a role in Administration to a role in the classroom and anything in-between.
The goal is for us to give Fellows meaningful opportunities to build upon their current foundation and learn skills that are good for the soul and future careers.
Academy Fellows receive an apartment, food, a stipend, and health benefits. Typically Fellowship placements are one academic year assignments beginning each August, but there are sometimes opportunities for mid-year hires.
