From Connecticut to North Carolina American Hebrew Academy draws students from around the globe

Today, AHA is the only international Jewish residential secondary school in the world, with 137 students from 28 U.S. states and 13 countries, and 30 percent of the student body hailing from abroad. With 45 faculty members and an average class size of 12, the student-teacher ratio is 3:1. This year, the school is home to one Connecticut student, Ben Forti of Woodbridge. Interfaith Tour enlightens participants about belief systems

The 2015 Interfaith Tour was this year held at Beth David Synagogue, Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church and the Islamic Center of Greensboro. The tour brought more than 270 people to each faith community, where participates learned about different belief systems. The annual event wasn't held in response to the Chapel Hill shooting, but the homicides brought home why the tour is held. "Just by showing up and taking a stand for interfaith unity shows that you're part of the solution," said Susan Feit, executive director of the National Conference for Community and Justice of the Piedmont Triad, which hosted the event.
